Program Coordinator
Amanuel Desmuke is an artist/actor and proud team member of Break the Room as the Program Coordinator. As a multiracial, Black, Chicanx, Japanese-American who navigates as transmasculine, Amanuel is dedicated to amplifying and supporting narratives and storytellers of all marginalized communities.
Earning their B.A. in Ethnic & Women's Studies from Cal Poly Pomona, M.Ed. from UCLA, and previously working in student affairs within higher education, after graduate school Amanuel fulfilled a childhood dream and took a stand-up comedy class through the LA LGBT Center's community program, Trans Lounge. This included the opportunity to perform twice at The Comedy Store in Hollywood.
This propelled them to shift careers to pursue storytelling as an actor and writer. Performing stand-up for a year, Amanuel then began training and performing improv at Second City Hollywood, appeared in several plays (staged and experimental) and is now currently training at the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio in the Meisner Program.
